Community of Congregations Annual Dinner and Meeting - January, 2007
2007 Community of Congregations Executive Board
The Annual Dinner Meeting of the Oak Park-River Forest Community of Congregations was held January 18, 2007 at River Forest United Methodist Church. Following a delicious dinner, the keynote speaker was Dr. Donna Carroll, President of Dominican University, who together with a dynamic student from the university,Erica Corona, presented a program called "Sowing the Seeds of a Meaningfull life." They described an exciting curriculum of community involvement designed to shape future generations of socially responsible and actively engaged citizens.
Following the keynote speach, we held our annual election of officers and heard reports on a number of ministries and related programs, including the Food Pantry, Holiday Food and Gift Program, the CROP hunger walk, 10,000 Villages and other activities.
The newly elected officers are: President, Rev. Dwight Bailey, Austin Boulevard Christian Church; Vice President, Kathy Russell, Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church; Secretary, Rev. Lowell Eckberg, 1st United Methodist Church; Treasurer, Vickie Hadaway, Cornerstone United Methodist Church ; Members at Large: Patricia Eichenold, Unity Church; Leonard Grossman, West Suburban Temple Har Zion; Edwin Liebner, St. Luke Parish.
