During the first week of January, 2006, much to my surprise, I found myself at the Rio Caliente Spa in the mountains above Guadalajara, Mexico. It was a blissful week of hiking, yoga, meditation, delicious vegetarian food, massages of all kinds, and above all, wonderful, interesting, supportive, people from many walks of life. The photograph below shows a guide reaching out to help a guest, who had never hiked before, cross the steaming Rio Caliente. I think this photo somehow captures the supportive atmosphere that permeates the spa.
